If you are an owner of an air fryer, you’ll know it allows you to get that crispiness without having to use much oil. I’ve not met anyone (so far) that doesn’t like chicken wings. This Easy Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings is insanely easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion and time.
I’m using frozen chicken mid wings, feel free to switch to the whole wings or drumlettes. If you are using whole chicken wings, please cut and separate the wings and drumlettes so that they’ll cook evenly.
Ingredients:
500g chicken wings – if using frozen, thawed at room temp for 30 to 45 mins
1 ½ tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp salt
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp sugar
1 ½ tbsp Chinese cooking wine
1 tbsp cooking oil
5 to 6 tbsp corn starch
Serves 3 to 4
Add all the ingredients except the corn starch to the chicken wings and mix well.
Place in a large Ziploc bag and let them marinate for 6 hours or overnight in the fridge.
Before cooking, take out the bag of wings and rest them a room temperature for 30 mins.
Place corn starch onto a large plate.
Coat each wing with corn starch, shaking off excess and let them rest at a clean plate for 5 mins.
Brush some oil onto the wings.
Preheat your air fryer at 200°C for 4 mins.
Depending on the size of your air fryer, place the wings into the basket in a single layer, leaving about 2cm space in between. Do not overcrowd the basket with the wings.
Cook for approximately 10 – 12 mins, flipping once at the 5 or 6 min mark.
Serve warm with your favorite chilli sauce.
